Technical regulations

Pointers & downloads for navigating the racing regulations

In NatSKA as well as most other kart racing series, we operate using a base of the Motorsport UK karting regulations (the Yellow/Gold book), plus an additional set of regulations allowing fair and realistic competition for school-level karting (the NatSKA Handbook).

All rules must be carefully followed to avoid any potential infringements - it has been known for a driver to lose a race or even a Championship due to basic technicalities.

It takes a lot of experience to navigate through all the regs, there are many gotchas in there, and realistically no single person can know all of them. This is another place where the experience of such a long-standing team can be invaluable - our team leaders and parents have hundreds of racing seasons between us, each providing valuable experience of what to look out for.
