It doesn't have to be 100% kart racing
We aim to get together at the club's base each week (during term time), allowing us not only to carry out required servicing tasks to the karts, but also to maintain relationships. We do seem to have a very strong team ethic, where everybody is happy to help each other out - not just with race-day issues, but all variety of things. We all get on well, like-minded people participating alongside each other, having a laugh.
We try (but not over-the-top often) to meet outside of the racetrack too. At the very least, this consists of our annual Busman's pilgramage to a local indoor kart track, where a large selection of parents try to show the kids how it's done - normally with quite disappointing results for said parents.
After the midsummer Nationals end-of-season event, we also put on a team barbeque - just a small token to keep morale high, put everyone at ease, and allow all to catch up on how the past year has gone.

At race meetings that offer the option, we will field a couple of 3-parent teams to participate in a corporate karting race against other teams. Not only does prove another great way to break the ice with other teams from around the country, but also adds a personal perspective of quite how hard our kids work during their day in the driving seat.
Due to the way our race series operates, we get to see some very familiar faces at each event, from teams all around the country. You see their kids grow into the driver they are now, as well as finding an opportunity to see how 'the other guys' do it - collecting trade secrets!
