Rowrah
Cumbria
One of our favourites. Set in an old quarry, nestled in the Lake District, this is a great circuit. Fast, long, hairpins, chicanes and undulations - what more can you want.
Rowrah Kart Circuit is a fast, technical track featuring 8 corners that blend quick directional changes with flowing sections. The layout demands precise braking, smooth throttle control, and well-planned racing lines to maintain speed throughout the lap.
The lap opens with Turn 1, a fast right-hander that immediately challenges drivers to commit to a steady racing line. This is quickly followed by Turn 2, a tight left-hand corner that requires early braking and a precise apex to set up for the mid-section. Turn 3 is a short, chicane-like sequence where timing and weight transfer are key to a clean exit, leading into Turn 4, a sweeping right that rewards commitment and a smooth throttle application.
In the latter half of the lap, Turn 5 is a quick left-hander demanding crisp inputs to maintain momentum. This sets up the technical Turn 6, a combination of a slight kink and a medium-speed corner that tests both kart balance and driver finesse. Approaching the final sector, Turn 7 offers a fast, flicking right that leads into Turn 8—a tight, technical corner where a well-timed exit is essential for a strong run onto the main straight.
Access to the circuit is via a short lane off the main road, leading directly into a well-organized paddock area. The immediate surroundings feature gently rolling farmland interspersed with patches of woodland. This undulating topography can influence kart handling by introducing subtle variations in grip levels and wind exposure, making Rowrah a true test of skill in a scenic yet challenging setting.
