Very flat and open surroundings, with marshland nearby, this has mix of fast-flowing bends and tight hairpins.
Lydd Kart Circuit is a fast yet technical track featuring 10 corners, blending high-speed straights with demanding low-speed sections. The circuit’s mix of fast-flowing bends and tight hairpins rewards smooth, controlled driving and strong exit speeds.
Turn 1 is a fast right-hander, requiring a firm commitment to carry speed onto the short straight leading into Turn 2, a tighter right where braking stability is key. Turn 3 (The Hairpin) is one of the prime overtaking spots, requiring heavy braking and a clean exit to maximize acceleration down the following straight.
Next, Turn 4 (The Fast Right) is a sweeping bend where kart positioning is crucial to avoid running wide. This leads into Turn 5 (The Long Left), a deceptively tricky corner where maintaining momentum is key. The back section features Turn 6 (The Double Right), a challenging two-part corner where balancing throttle and steering is vital to avoid scrubbing speed.
Approaching the final sector, Turn 7 (The Double Left) sets up for a crucial sequence where smoothness is rewarded. Turn 8 (The Right-Hander) and Turn 9 (The Final Hairpin) demand precise braking and a well-timed throttle application to power through Turn 10, a slight kink leading back onto the main straight.
Access to the circuit is via a short road off the main route, leading to a well-sized paddock area. The surrounding area is very flat and open, with marshland nearby, meaning wind direction can significantly affect braking zones and straight-line speed.
